As a therapist, it is my job to disrupt the systems of trauma that have caused harm to my clients. This trauma is evident not only in our day to day life, but also generationally and systemically. I seek to center my clients’ experiences and voices, and form a narrative in which my clients can connect with their power and strengths, both in our relationship, as well as others in their lives. I'm constantly working on decolonizing my practice, as well as my own identity.
My past experiences as a teacher, researcher, and mentor led me to find that counseling was the perfect intersection between these roles and identities. Becoming a counselor brought my most authentic self forward. I now have over 13 years of experience counseling adults in coping with anxiety and panic, depression, life changes and transitions, identity, and career. Additionally, I used to teach and provide career counseling at a university in Chicago, so I'm happy to integrate my knowledge and experience of job exploration and searching into our sessions (including the role of "work" in our social identities and beliefs as well.)

On a personal note, I love animals, and it's very likely you'll get to virtually meet my two cats Lucy and Georgie during our sessions. Please introduce me to your animals as well! I also enjoy cycling and being in nature, and am an INF/TJ (I'm trained in Myers-Briggs and love personal assessments and existential questions, including discussing their (ir)relevance.) Also, now that I'm in my 40s, I am suddenly interested in birds and gardening, go figure!
