Career & Life Coaching
How is Coaching different from Therapy?
I am a psychotherapist (LCPC) by training and also work with clients through a coaching model in a less clinical format, maintaining the same strong confidential and HIPPA compliant communications.
The main differences are:
-
Coaching is not a service covered or reimbursed by insurance. The length and cost of the session are the same as my regular therapy services.
-
If a clinical issue (such as anxiety or depression) is identified and requires a more intensive level of clinical care than coaching can provide, I will provide referrals and recommendations for treatment. While diagnosis and treatment are not a part of or the goal with coaching sessions, I am better than your average coach at helping you discover any such blocks that may be affecting your overall quality of life.
Many of the same skills and knowledge I use as a psychotherapist can and will be useful during coaching as well, so visit my "services" tab to learn more about how I show up as a coach/therapist.

Who is Coaching For?
Career and life coaching are a great fit for you if you...

-
Want to avoid a diagnosis and remain completely confidential from the insurance industry
-
Are interested in addressing many of the same issues I specialize in as a therapist: life transitions, stress and anxiety, big feelings and questions, career stressors, motivational barriers, relationship challenges, and all the day to day responsibilities which connect to building a more fulfilling life.
-
Are nervous about trying therapy and want to ease into a less clinical setting that will be supportive and teach you skills without feeling pressure to "talk about your childhood" (I might still ask, sorry! It's a great career exploration question...)
-
Feel nervous about picking a "coach" who has less robust training and experience, so find my clinical background a happy medium.

-
Live in a state or country that I am not licensed clinically in (only IL), but still want to work with me.
